The Gateway of Michigan
New Buffalo is the first city in Michigan when traveling east on I-94 or US-12. It is the heart of Harbor County, a community of eight neighboring towns. New Buffalo offers a variety of ways to enjoy Lake Michigan and Galien River. We have the largest public beach in the area, a boat launch and a transient marina located at the north end of the downtown district. Our downtown district also provides many dining, lodging and shopping options for residents and visitors.
