Mission Statement
It is the mission of the New Buffalo Police Department to provide professional, personable, and exemplary service to the New Buffalo Community. We will do this by providing a service that effectively deals with crime, promotes safety, and functions as the stalwart of the community.
About Us
New Buffalo City Police Department is made up of Seven Full Time officers, and many Part Time Officers. Our police officers are committed to providing professional law enforcement services and leadership and are committed to protecting life, preserving the peace, and protecting property. The department patrols approximately 2.5 square miles, with a year-round population of approximately 2,000 people, and a seasonal population which may exceed 15,000.
New Buffalo City Police Department is a progressive law enforcement agency that has embraced modern technology along with forming a strong partnership with our citizens and businesses to provide a safer community.
