NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND SPECIAL ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING

In accordance with the Michigan Open Meetings Act, Public Act 267 of 1976, MCL 15.261, et. seq., the Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing at a special meeting on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 5:00 PM*

The purpose of this meeting is for variance requests by the owners listed below:

  • Marcus Boni, owner of 17 S. Jameson Street, New Buffalo, MI 49117.

The applicant requests a variance approval for the enlargement of a non-conforming structure at 17 S. Jameson Street, in accordance with article 9-04 of the City’s zoning ordinance.

Zoning District: GCD (General Commercial District)

Said property is located at 17 S. Jameson Street, New Buffalo, MI 49117. Property Tax Code is 11-62-6750-0040-00-2.

  • Nida & Heinrich Martens (Vida Gleveckas) owner of 214 W. Merchant St, New Buffalo, MI 49117.

The applicant requests the following variance approvals:

  • A request for the reduction of the interior side setback, per the City’s Zoning Ordinance Article 3, Section 3-01.
  • An increase of the total area allocated for parking, per the City’s Zoning Ordinance Article 5, Section 5-01 B(2).
  • To reduce the rear setback to 26 feet, per the City’s Zoning Ordinance Article 3, Section 3-01.

Zoning District:  R-2 (Lakefront Residential District)

Said property is located at 214 W. Merchant St, New Buffalo, MI 49117.  Property Tax Code No: 11-62-0340-0115-01-5.
